When a member carefully accumulates his LinkPoints to redeem it for something he really wants, you will see his face light up. That really makes my day.

Ms Cindy Oh, Customer Service Officer at LinkPoints Rewards Centre

The LinkPoints Programme by NTUC Link Private Limited allows NTUC members to enjoy savings on purchases in the form of LinkPoints. Accumulated LinkPoints can be used to redeem products and vouchers or be used to offset against purchases at LinkPoints merchants. With over 600 participating outlets in food and beverage, shopping, banking services as well as leisure, members are rewarded at almost every turn in Singapore.

Several innovative programmes were introduced last year to bring a wider range of benefits and cost savings to NTUC members.

One key initiative was the Uplus Card. Uplus is the preferred NTUC membership card that comes with a VISA payment feature. With Uplus, NTUC members can earn LinkPoints at a faster rate and enjoy all-in-one banking services offered by OCBC Bank. There is no annual fee and Uplus cardmembers get to enjoy a host of additional benefits and offers which include the option of converting LinkPoints to cash, extra six months’ validity for LinkPoints and 20 extra LinkPoints for every $100 spent at NTUC FairPrice. Under the Uplus cards programme, a portion of spending on the card by Uplus cardholders, will be contributed annually to a charity or charities chosen by NTUC. In 2008, a donation of $250,000 was made to NTUC Eldercare Trust, which brings the total contribution so far to $1 million.

$8 million savings for members

LinkPoints continue to garner the highest redemption rate in Singapore at 94 per cent and NTUC members are the most active LinkPoints users. More than 1.2 billion points were issued last year which translates to over $8 million worth of savings to members.

LinkPoints is cash and more

The introduction of instant LinkPoints redemption at all FairPrice outlets has also unveiled a whole new experience. Now, members with 150 points would be able to redeem their points for cash by offsetting it against their total purchase.

Redemption at the LinkPoints Rewards website also continues to be strong. Collectively, our members donated about $3,800 to the Children’s Cancer Foundation.
