- HbA1c (glycated or glycosylated hemoglobin) is a reliable blood test to assess your overall sugar control. Your blood sugar varies through the day, depending on when was your last meal. Doctors depend on the HbA1c result to gauge the fluctuations in blood sugar levels over the preceding 2-3 months.
HbA1c will be done when your fasting blood sugar test result is high.

- Hepatitis A - caused by Hepatitis A Virus (HAV)
- Hepatitis B - caused by Hepatitis B Virus (HBV)
A common source of getting Hepatitis A is from eating raw or partially cooked shellfish, indirect faecal contamination of hands, eating utensils, food and drinks. It is recommended that we should be immunised if there is plan to travel to a country where Hepatitis A is common.
However Hepatitis B is a serious disease because it can lead to complication like chronic Hepatitis (persistent liver inflammation), liver cirrhosis (hardening of liver), liver failure and liver cancer. (80% of liver cancer patients in Singapore are hepatitis B carriers.)
