LCCI BOOK-KEEPING ELEMENTARY

Entry Requirements
No Formal entry requirements. Candidates must be 15 years and above.

Course Outline
The aim of the examination is to test the candidate's understanding of the basic principles underlying the recording of business transactions, including the influence of Information Technology and the ability to prepare accounts for Sole-Traders and Non-trading Organizations.

ITE NITEC IN SERVICE SKILLS (OFFICE)

Entry Requirements
2 GCE 'O' Level Grades (Grades 1 - 8) in any two subjects
OR
3 GCE 'N' Level Passes (Grades 1 - 5) in English Language and two other subjects
OR
Candidate's who do not meet the entry requirements can sit for the entrance test conducted at ITE centers. 

Course Objectives
At the end of the training, the trainee should be able to communicate and handle simple written communications in an office, perform routine office duties and produce error-free documents at a minimum speed of 30 words per minute using a common word processing package.

Core Modules

Effective Communication
Students are trained to handle both oral and written communications in an office.

Effective Writing
Students are trained to handle written communications in an office.

Office Computing
Students are trained to manage files and directories in Windows, scan and save images using scanners and produce office documents using a Word processing software package.

Business Software Applications
Students are trained to produce documents using a database software package, a spreadsheet software package and a presentation software package, search for information using the Internet and communicate using e-mail.

Specialisation Modules

Office Organisation
Students are trained to handle routine office duties involving essential functions of the main departments found in an organisation.

Office Procedures
Students are trained to handle routine duties in the management of records, receiving of visitors, administration of meetings and making of travel arrangements.

Elective Modules

Elementary Book Keeping
Students are trained to record business transactions and prepare simple final accounts for sole proprietorships.

Book Keeping
Students are trained to prepare simple final accounts for sole proprietorships after making the necessary adjustments for prepayments and accruals, depreciation of fixed assets, bad debts written off and recovered, and the provision for doubtful debts.

Candidate's are required to pass all the eight modules in order to obtain ITE Nitec in Service Skills (Office) Certificate.
